Foster's BGs Used for Teaching Children

Don Masse, an elementary school teacher at Zamorano Fine Arts Academy in San Diego, created an assignment using art from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends to teach foreground, middle ground, background. Zamorano is an art focused elementary school that serves a diverse population of students.

The Foster's BGs below were used as examples

The children created the images below using cut paper for a background, then applying a middle ground layer, and a foreground on top.

Rocko's Modern Life Comic

Comic from a long time ago!

Last week, one of the very talented compositors that I work with on a new show for HBO said it was cool to work with people who worked on shows that inspired her to go into animation. I see co workers wearing Rocko's Modern Life tee shirts, and talking about gags from the show. Little did I know that the show had such an impact.

Here is a xeroxed copy of a painted cel that I found in my flat file. I was lucky enough to be the color supervisor on the series.
